History
In August 2010, Alt Media Sdn Bhd launched Tonton as Malaysia's first online video streaming service. It began as a way for Malaysians to Livestream Malaysia's iconic TV channels, along with a "Catch Up TV" service that allows Malaysians to watch their favourite shows anytime.
In 2016, Tonton was refreshed to reflect the new content-based website better and released its video streaming application on all major devices. Tonton began showcasing LIVE events in HD and showcased fresh content exclusive to the platform.
In 2021, Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad and REV Media Group launched Tonton CINEMA. A pay-per-view streaming service that continuously provides high-quality Malaysian and foreign movies.
Today, Tonton modernises itself as the home of all Media Prima content that is always available at every Malaysian fingertip.
